Insurrection London: Asset Breakdown

Insurrection London
-
This is our third-year final university project, it is the result of an incredibly dedicated year of work from a team of 3 students. Together, we worked tirelessly to design an environment that was filled with backstory and has traces of life consistently visible throughout.
-
I was tasked with creating game-ready assets and modular assets which was used to build up the Project's environments. I helped create some of the environmental storytelling and placement of specific assets (that I created), in order to maintain a consistently compelling and lived-in atmosphere. Additionally, I created the main character's weapon and animated the firing of the gun, alongside its sound design.

This Year has proven itself very difficult but I appreciated every second I spent working amongst such a brilliantly talented team of individuals. I personally, have aimed to improve my skillset to the best of my ability, by refining my modelling and texturing workflows, adapting particular assets through multiple stages of feedback as well as sitting down with my team and brainstorming the endless creative possible directions in which we could go with Insurrection London. I particularly enjoyed injecting as many of the finer details as I could into my work in order to make each asset stand out and really bring the London aesthetic to this project. My biggest obstacle, at the beginning of this project, was my workflows. I took this opportunity to really practice every step it takes to produce high-quality, games-ready Assets at a professional standard. I am now much more confident in my ability and myself.

We are all extremely happy with how this project turned out. During the early production stages, our tutors and peers provided valuable feedback and pointers that assisted us in molding the project into its ultimate form. Effective planning and time management played a pivotal role in the successful execution of this project. Adhering to deadlines ensured seamless progress throughout the production process. Throughout the production of Insurrection London, we were always motivated to enhance our skills and capabilities at every stage, aiming to deliver the best outcome possible.

Insurrection London to me is the physical embodiment of pushing yourself to reach your best and to never stop improving on your abilities.

[Special Credit to Zachary Allen for his Ford Escort Mk2, I took his base model, reUV'd it and gave it a new texture. As can be seen in my showreel. ]
